By Vadim Litvak, NYC matchmaker · Last updated: · Prices checked October 2026

Tawkify is cheaper to start (3 matches listed at $4,900, often shown at $4,400) and plans blind first dates for you. Three Day Rule starts at $6,300, shows you each match's photo first and sells time-based memberships. Both are national firms that sell in New York without a published NYC office. Both treat paid packages as non-refundable.

Tawkify vs Three Day Rule: side by side

The useful distinction is what you want to hand over: choosing without a photo, arranging the evening, or managing a search over time. Tawkify sells a match count. Three Day Rule sells membership time. Our comparison uses each firm's own pages for the service details and labels press reports separately. Read how I write these reviews for the source method.

How the process differs

How Tawkify works

Tawkify starts with an eligibility survey and a call with a client experience specialist. A personal matchmaker then holds a 60-minute onboarding call. The standard service lets you define up to three approval search criteria. Those criteria matter because a candidate who meets the agreed requirements can count toward your package even if you decline.

Tawkify searches its database and recruits candidates. Every match receives criminal-record screening and a live video screening, according to Tawkify's FAQ. You receive a written description without a photo or identifying details. Tawkify's agreement requires a response within three days.

The Date Concierge Team coordinates and schedules the first date. You provide written feedback within 48 hours afterward. Tawkify aims for approximately one match a month. This is an aim, rather than a fixed delivery deadline in the general agreement.

How Three Day Rule works

Three Day Rule begins with a free consultation, followed by a new-member strategist call and assignment to a personal matchmaker. The search can draw on existing relationships, the database and recruiting. The founder told Newport Beach Independent in August 2026 that the company may interview 50 to 100 candidates before sending a client a match.

Three Day Rule's process description includes coaching and a photo shoot. You see a photo and bio before agreeing to meet, then give feedback afterward. Memberships can be paused. Three Day Rule also says unused membership time can become coaching sessions. Ask how those options affect your particular membership's end date before choosing a longer term.

Cost compared

Tawkify's own cards list 3 matches at $4,900 (shown at $4,400); Three Day Rule says memberships start at $6,300 (both checked October 2026). That makes Tawkify the lower published entry point. The two fees buy different units of service.

Tawkify's 12-match offer works out to $750 per purchased match. Three Day Rule publishes no package match count, so there is no equivalent calculation from its own figures. VIDA Select, a competing matchmaker, reports $6,300 for three months with at least three matches and $9,500 for six months. Those are competitor reports.

For historical context, Robb Report's June 2025 account described a Three Day Rule quote of almost $8,900 for six months and $5,900 for three months. Those amounts predate the current starting-price statement.

Tawkify's agreement includes a $10,000 Premier engagement retainer. Fast Company in October 2025 reported Three Day Rule VIP pricing around $25,000 up to $100,000 for 16 months. KTVU in January 2025 reported a $1 million experience; Three Day Rule's own page describes a 12-month membership.

Refunds, guarantees and the fine print

Tawkify's NYC marketing promises dates, while the service agreement disclaims a specific number, frequency or success within a set period. Three Day Rule's app promises introductions; that promise is separate from human matchmaking. Neither statement guarantees a relationship.

Tawkify publishes a New York addendum with a three-business-day cancellation right, a 12-month initial term and a refund provision after two consecutive months without a match, subject to a deduction. New York's GBL § 394-c provides a three-business-day cancellation right for covered dating-service contracts. Read what New York law says about matchmaking contracts and request the applicable rights in writing.

What clients complain about

Tawkify's Trustpilot profile showed 4.6 from 8,121 reviews on October 30, 2026. A sample of negative reviews identifies refund refusals, dissatisfaction with the number of matches and complaints about being introduced to non-paying members. Those are reviewers' accounts of their experience.

Three Day Rule's Trustpilot profile showed 4.3 from 87 reviews on the same date. Negative themes include value for money, refused refunds and concerns about contact details being shared with a client. Three Day Rule's national Yelp listing showed 4.2 from 296 reviews.

The review-volume gap matters: 8,121 Trustpilot reviews and 87 reviews represent very different bodies of feedback. Neither score tells you how a search with your criteria will go. Both Trustpilot profiles are claimed and have paid subscriptions. Read the detail of a complaint alongside the firm's response before deciding what it means for your purchase.

Use those themes to prepare consultation questions. Ask whether candidates pay, how feedback changes the search, what counts as a delivered introduction and what happens if the pace disappoints you. Write down the answers and compare them with the proposed agreement. A complaint about an expectation is especially useful when it helps you make your own expectation explicit before paying.

Which one is right for you?

Choose Tawkify if the lower published entry price fits your budget and you want blind dates arranged for you. Tawkify's public agreements also let you examine forfeiture and cancellation rules before a sales call. Read our full Tawkify review for the package details.

Choose Three Day Rule if seeing a photo before each date is central to your decision and you prefer a time-based search. Request the client agreement before paying. Read our full Three Day Rule review for the distinction between paid matchmaking, database membership and the app.

For a smaller commitment, Three Day Rule's App Store lists a $34.99 subscription without a billing period. Tawkify offers candidate-pool membership, with no fee amount published. Neither passive pool membership nor an app purchase buys the personal search described above.

For NYC, ask about candidate geography and how you will meet your matchmaker. Both firms sell here; neither publishes a New York office. A city landing page alone does not settle whether the working relationship suits you.
