Tawkify Review (2026): Cost, How It Works and What Clients Say

Tawkify is a national matchmaking service, founded in 2012, that sets up blind first dates by video-screened matchmakers. Its own price cards list 3 matches at $4,900, 6 at $8,000 and 12 at $15,000, often shown discounted. It suits busy people who want dates planned for them. The most common complaint is refunds: packages are non-refundable once you are onboarded.
I write this overview as a competing NYC matchmaker, using published sources rather than a personal test of Tawkify. Read how I write these reviews or browse all matchmaking service reviews.

How does Tawkify work?
Tawkify takes over the search and date logistics. The how-it-works page starts with an eligibility survey. The Service Agreement defines the steps after purchase, including response deadlines that affect your match balance.
- Check eligibility and talk. Complete the one-minute survey, then speak with a client experience specialist. Use the call to establish whether the proposal is for personal matchmaking or a different service. Ask which written agreement accompanies the quote.
- Meet your matchmaker. Tawkify describes a 60-minute onboarding call. Set up to three Approval Search Criteria; Premier allows up to six. These are the requirements used to judge whether a proposed match fits your purchased search.
- Let the search happen. Tawkify searches its database and recruits candidates. Tawkify says every match receives live video screening and a criminal-record screening. Matchmakers work nationwide through third-party video platforms, so your matchmaker can work remotely.
- Review the description. Tawkify sends a written description without photos or identifying personal details. Respond within three days. Read the description against your approved criteria, since declining a fitting candidate can count against the package.
- Attend and give feedback. The Date Concierge Team coordinates and schedules the date. Submit written feedback within 48 hours. Phone numbers are exchanged only when both people want to stay in contact.
Tawkify aims for approximately one match per month. That is a target pace, rather than a delivery deadline. Before onboarding, make sure the proposed schedule works with your travel and availability. The service needs timely replies from you as well as candidates who fit the agreed search.
Client or member: does Tawkify have a free version?
A paying Tawkify client receives a personal matchmaking search under Signature or Premier. A Tawkify member joins the candidate pool and may meet paying clients. Members do not work directly with a matchmaker. Recruits do not pay to enter the database. These roles buy different levels of service.
Tawkify publishes no member fee in the supplied FAQ or agreement. Secondary sources disagree: Vice, August 2026 and Photofeeler, July 2026 report about $99 a year; VIDA Select, a competing matchmaker, October 2026 reports about $9.99 a month. Those are reported figures, not a current Tawkify quote.
The distinction matters on both sides of a date. Paying clients can meet people who have not purchased the same package. Members wait to fit a client’s search instead of receiving their own dedicated search. Ask which role you are being offered and what any payment actually covers before enrolling.
How much does Tawkify cost?
Tawkify’s own package cards separate list prices from displayed offers. The first price page and second price page are marked noindex and give no offer end date. The figures below were checked October 30, 2026. A displayed discount does not establish what your final proposal includes.
| Package | List price | Offer shown | Source / checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 matches | $4,900 | $4,400 | Tawkify price cards / Oct. 30, 2026 |
| 6 matches | $8,000 | $6,400 | Tawkify price cards / Oct. 30, 2026 |
| 12 matches | $15,000 | $9,000 | Tawkify price cards / Oct. 30, 2026 |
Tawkify’s own numbers differ. The NYC page says packages start around $4,900. A September 30, 2026 blog post describes a Basic tier around $6,000 for six to twelve curated matches over six months. Ask for the package name, match count and total in one written proposal.
Premier is separate from the price-card ladder. The Service Agreement says every Premier package includes a $10,000 Premier engagement retainer. The agreement illustrates a refundable $50,000 Premier package with 12 matches; that is an example, rather than a universal Premier quote. Select uses algorithmic matching without a personal matchmaker. Tawkify publishes no Select price in the supplied sources.
For women asking how much Tawkify costs, the cards show one price list without gender pricing. Women and men can also be members. A candidate-pool role should not be compared with a paying-client package simply because both can lead to a date.
The payment terms require payment in full at purchase and say wire transfers may carry promotional incentives. These are prepaid package figures, so dividing the total into months does not create a monthly subscription. Ask whether the final quote includes the same services described during the sales call.
Older press prices are historical: Time Out’s 2017 report listed $1,800 for six matches; The Billfold in March 2015 quoted a $499 monthly starting figure. Use the dated cards and your written offer for today’s comparison. See what NYC matchmakers cost for the wider market.
Refunds, cancellation and what the contract says
The Refund Policy, updated July 15, 2026 treats purchases as final, subject to state exceptions. Fees become earned at onboarding and then nonrefundable. Dissatisfaction with compatibility, match quality or the matchmaker’s performance does not itself create a refund right. Packages labeled refundable retain a nonrefundable onboarding and general services fee equal to 50% of the package price.

A match can be used up without a completed date. Declining a candidate who meets your approved criteria forfeits that match. Canceling a date with less than 48 hours’ notice also forfeits the match and its value. Fourteen days without responding can forfeit the remaining matches, except where law requires otherwise. Put response deadlines in your calendar when service begins.
The documents give different pause allowances. The Refund Policy allows up to six months per pause. The Service Agreement describes one pause of up to three months for a three-match cycle. Have Tawkify identify the allowance that applies to the package you are signing. A pause matters if you travel frequently or want to explore a promising connection.
The refund procedure requires Tawkify’s process before a chargeback and a signed settlement and release to accept a refund. The Terms of Use provide for individual JAMS arbitration and a class-action waiver. Read those procedural terms alongside the package price.
Marketing and contract language also differ. The NYC page says “Dates are 100% guaranteed.” The Service Agreement’s “There Are No Guarantees” section disclaims a specific match count, frequency or success within a set period. Ask how those statements apply to the offer in front of you.
If you live in New York
Exhibit B of Tawkify’s Terms of Use gives New York residents three business days after payment to cancel. The initial term is 12 months and auto-renews. New York members may pause for up to one year, and no ancillary purchase is required. If Tawkify presents no match for two or more consecutive months, the addendum permits cancellation and a refund, less the greater of 15% or the pro-rata value of matches presented. The addendum includes the New York Dating Service Consumer Bill of Rights. Read it with New York General Business Law § 394-c and keep a copy with your signed agreement.
What clients say: Trustpilot, BBB and Reddit
Trustpilot’s Tawkify profile showed 4.6 from 8,121 reviews on October 30, 2026. The profile was claimed and carried a paid Trustpilot subscription. The supplied distribution was 80% five-star, 9% four-star, 3% three-star, 2% two-star and 6% one-star. The overall score therefore reflects a review mix dominated by five-star submissions.
The brief’s analysis of the first 20 one-star reviews found four mentioning refused refunds and four mentioning matches with nonpaying members. Two mentioned too few matches, two described misleading sales or guarantee statements, and two mentioned support. These are reviewer accounts, not findings about every client. Themes can overlap within the same review.
The positive overall score and the negative themes answer different questions. The score describes the collected ratings. The low-rating sample helps identify the questions to resolve before purchase: who you may meet, how introductions count and what happens if you want your money back. Neither establishes your chance of finding a relationship.
For a second source, consult Tawkify’s BBB business profile and BBB complaints. Read the customer’s account alongside Tawkify’s response. A complaint is a dispute reported by a customer; its presence alone does not establish that the allegations were upheld.
Reddit also hosts Tawkify discussions in r/Tawkify_com and the thread “Tawkify reviews?” in r/dating_advice. Anonymous discussions are a place to identify questions to ask during a consultation. Keep the service tier, purchase date and client-versus-member role in view when comparing an individual account with your offer.
For your own decision, separate satisfaction with the person arranging dates from satisfaction with the dates themselves. A friendly matchmaker, a useful introduction and a relationship outcome are different things to evaluate. The written package should make clear which service obligations your payment buys.
How does Tawkify work in New York?
Tawkify’s New York City page advertises thousands of relationship-ready singles and describes pairing clients with an expert matchmaker in New York City. The page does not name a matchmaker or publish a New York office address. The contract says matchmakers operate nationwide by video. Your dates can be in person in NYC while your matchmaker works elsewhere.
The Service Agreement describes a search radius of approximately 40 miles from your primary ZIP code. Discuss the practical travel involved before approving your criteria. A geographic radius alone does not tell you whether a particular trip works for your schedule.
The NYC page’s 80%+ success claim is self-reported. Its footnote refers to Tawkify-matched couples within the first eight to twelve matches. That claim is not independently validated and should not be treated as a personal probability of success. For a New Yorker, the useful comparison is the search area, the remote working arrangement, the date format and the New York contract addendum.
Is Tawkify legit? Lawsuits and complaints
Tawkify is an operating matchmaking business, founded in 2012. The legal entity in the Terms of Use is Tawkify, Inc., with Delaware governing-law language. A real business can still be a poor fit for your preferences or contract expectations. The court records should be read by case and outcome.
In Stanfield v. Tawkify, No. C 20-7000 WHA, a California customer’s putative class action ended in summary judgment for Tawkify on September 15, 2021. Tawkify’s law firm reported the dismissal. The Larue worker wage case, filed in 2023, went to arbitration and was dismissed with prejudice in December 2024. The Agarwal do-not-call class action, filed in May 2025, was voluntarily dismissed in July 2025 without a merits ruling.
The brief’s October 30, 2026 searches found no FTC or state attorney general action. Tawkify’s scam warning says the company never requests payment through Telegram, Cash App, Zelle, gift cards or cryptocurrency.
What are Tawkify’s pros and cons?
- Less date administration: Tawkify handles the search and scheduling, which suits people who want help organizing introductions.
- Screening: Tawkify says every candidate receives live video and criminal-record screening.
- Visible package ladder: the published cards make three-, six- and twelve-match commitments easier to compare.
- New York terms: the addendum provides a cancellation route after two consecutive months without a presented match.
- Financial commitment: onboarding generally makes fees nonrefundable, subject to the applicable exceptions.
- Limited preview: clients receive descriptions without photos; declining a fitting match can use it up.
- Service format: matchmakers may work remotely, and paying clients may meet nonpaying members.
The strongest fit is between the work you want delegated and the rules you can comfortably accept.
Who is Tawkify for, and who should skip it?
Tawkify suits someone who wants a person to search, screen and arrange dates, and who is comfortable meeting without a photo preview. A prepaid package can fit if the total is affordable and you can reply promptly throughout the search. The client-versus-member distinction should also feel clear before you commit.
Skip Tawkify if reviewing photos is essential, you want a named local matchmaker you can meet in person, or you need the freedom to stop paying month by month. Take more time if you expect dissatisfaction alone to trigger a refund. The contract does not support that expectation. Choose the format before choosing the discount.
What are the alternatives in New York?
Compare the service model as well as the starting price. A match package and a time-based search are different purchases. Give each firm the same priorities so its proposal answers the same request.
- Three Day Rule review: premium memberships start at $6,300, according to the firm’s own review page. Three Day Rule uses time-based memberships and shares photos first.
- It’s Just Lunch arranges dates through staff. A current price is not published; request a quote that spells out the date count and term.
- LUMA publishes a $20,000–$250,000 or more range for customized matchmaking. LUMA’s model is a six-month search.
These source figures were checked October 30, 2026. Read Tawkify vs Three Day Rule for the closer comparison, or compare the best matchmakers in NYC. Keep your budget, photo preferences and cancellation needs beside each proposal.

Is Tawkify worth it?
Tawkify can be worth considering if you want dates searched for and planned, accept the blind-date format and can afford a prepaid commitment. It is less suitable if you require photos first or easy cancellation after onboarding. Compare the written search criteria, match-forfeiture rules and New York addendum before deciding.
