LGBTQ+ matchmaking in New York
Gay & LGBTQ+ Matchmakers in NYC (2026)

New York has two NYC-based matchmakers for gay men, ManMate (since 1985) and The Magical Matchmaker. Sameera Sullivan runs a gay men's program, and LUMA, Three Day Rule and Tawkify take LGBTQ+ clients. Prices run from about $1,000 at ManMate (reported 2024) to $25,000–$500,000 at Sameera Sullivan. For queer women the NYC market is thin.
LGBTQ+ matchmaking with Vadim Litvak
Your search should begin with the relationship you want. At Matchmaker New York, we invite gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and non-binary singles to discuss their priorities in a confidential consultation. Tell us whom you hope to meet, your age preferences, your neighborhood and how far you would travel for the right connection.
Use that conversation to ask how a search would work for you: who would handle it, how candidates would be identified and what an introduction would involve. Ask about privacy before sharing details you want kept confidential. A useful proposal should make the work and the commitment clear enough for you to decide.
Explore our packages and our approach to matchmaking in New York. Bring your questions about budget, timing and compatibility. We want the consultation to help you choose a search that fits your life.
LGBTQ+ matchmakers in New York at a glance
This comparison covers firms whose own sites describe gay, lesbian or LGBTQ+ services, including national and remote options relevant to a New York search. It is not a ranking. Prices are published by the firm, reported by press with the year shown, or marked not published. A New York service page does not establish a staffed local office. All sources were checked October 30, 2026; older press prices retain their original dates.

Matchmakers for gay men in New York
ManMate
ManMate has served gay men in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut since 1985. ManMate lists an office at 1501 Broadway. Gothamist’s February 2024 profile identifies owner-matchmaker Nick Bradford, also named Nick Flatto. The profile describes introductions without exchanging photos; first contact is by phone.
Gothamist reported packages starting around $1,000, with three guaranteed introductions and a year in the candidate pool at the smallest level. That is a 2024 report. Yelp showed 3.0 from two reviews on October 30, 2026.
The Magical Matchmaker
The Magical Matchmaker serves LGBTQIA+ singles and allies. Founder Wade Kyle has worked in matchmaking since 2011, according to the firm’s about page. The firm describes bases in New York, Philadelphia and Boston, without publishing a street address.
The NYC page describes six- to 12-month packages and says, “We never post our pricing.” Ask for the term, search scope and total fee together so you can compare the proposal with a fixed-introduction package.
Sameera Sullivan
Sameera Sullivan offers a gay men’s program and registry. The firm lists a 5th Avenue office. The gay men’s program publishes packages from $25,000 to $500,000, checked October 2026. Memberships last six months or one year. Sameera Sullivan does not guarantee a number of matches. Ask how the proposed scope determines your fee and what work the membership covers.
Pride Matchmaking, Karmen Paley
Pride Matchmaking, formerly Karmen Connects, is Karmen Paley’s queer-founded business. Pride Matchmaking is NYC-based and works nationwide. The firm serves LGB clients and offers a separate track for transgender and non-binary clients. Pricing is not published. Check the business name carefully: Pride Matchmaking is a different business from pridematchmaker.com. Ask about the local search rather than treating nationwide coverage as a local candidate count.
Gayquation
Gayquation describes a global service for gay men launched in 2007. Published one-time memberships cost $999 for 24 months, $1,999 for 12 months and $3,599 for six months. NYC presence is not stated. Compare the membership’s actual work and introduction terms with local services; the shorter term carries the higher published fee.
National firms that take gay clients
LUMA explicitly names gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients; paid searches cost $20,000–$250,000 or more. Three Day Rule has a dedicated LGBTQ+ page, mentions its LGBTQ+ CEO and has a New York city page. Tawkify’s NYC page addresses LGBT clients and advertises packages starting around $4,900.
Read our LUMA review, Three Day Rule review and Tawkify review. A national network can be part of the search, but ask each firm to describe the candidates it can reach within your actual dating radius.
Lesbian and queer women's matchmaking in New York
On October 30, 2026, we found no paid matchmaker for queer women with an NYC office. The NYC market is thin: the options below include remote services, a semi-personalized format and firms with LGBTQ+ programs. An NYC-focused page and a physical NYC office are different things.

| Name | Who | Format | Price | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sophia Spallino / The Queer Country Club | Lesbian clients | Private matchmaking; location not stated | $2,000–$10,000 | Own site |
| Little Gay Book, Dr. Frankie Bashan | LBTQ+ track | Semi-personalized matchmaking | $495 launch; regularly $750 | September 2026 offer |
| Amity Matchmaking | LGBTQIA+ clients | Matchmaking and date coaching; free Rolodex | Not published | Own site |
| H4M | Gay and lesbian professionals | Remote matchmaking | From the $3,000s; 2014 press | CultureMap, 2014 |
| The Magical Matchmaker | Lesbian clients | NYC-focused lesbian service page | Not published | Own site |
| LUMA | Lesbian and other LGBTQ clients | Paid search | $20,000–$250,000+ | Own site |
Ask which service you are buying before comparing these prices. Little Gay Book’s semi-personalized offer is a different format from a private retained search. Amity’s free Rolodex is separate from its paid services. A lower entry price does not describe the same amount of work.
10th Muses is a free NYC social club for queer and lesbian women, trans and non-binary people age 30 and older. Founded in September 2025, 10th Muses offers members-only introductions on request. It is a club, not a paid matchmaker. That makes it a useful separate option if you want community alongside possible introductions.
Matchmaking for trans, non-binary and bisexual singles
Pride Matchmaking offers a separate track for transgender and non-binary clients. LUMA names transgender and bisexual clients on its LGBTQ page. The Magical Matchmaker describes its service as LGBTQIA+ inclusive. Ask any firm how many clients like you it currently works with in NYC. Describe whom you want to meet as well as your own identity, so the conversation addresses compatibility rather than stopping at an inclusive label.
Do mainstream NYC matchmakers take same-sex clients?
Some mainstream firms state their LGBTQ+ service publicly. The clearest statements in this comparison are:
- LUMA names gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients.
- Three Day Rule has an LGBTQ+ program page and mentions “our LGBTQ+ CEO.”
- Tawkify addresses LGBT clients on its New York City page.
It’s Just Lunch’s LGBTQ+ page says the service is currently offered in California. That page does not establish an NYC LGBTQ+ program.
On October 30, 2026, we found no same-sex service statement on the sites we checked for Kelleher International, Selective Search, Agape Match, NYCity Matchmaking, Maclynn, Modern Love Club or Project Soulmate. Ask those firms directly whether they currently accept your search. An absent public statement does not mean a firm does not serve same-sex clients. Request details about the matchmaker’s experience and local recruiting before treating a general welcome as a specific search proposal.
How much does a gay matchmaker cost in NYC?
ManMate’s reported starting price was about $1,000 in 2024. Sameera Sullivan publishes $25,000–$500,000 in 2026. Gayquation lists $999–$3,599 memberships. Tawkify starts around $4,900. LUMA publishes $20,000–$250,000+. H4M’s reported starting price was in the $3,000s in 2014; its current price is not published.
The Magical Matchmaker and Pride Matchmaking do not publish prices. Request a written quote that separates the search term, promised introductions and any additional services. H4M’s 2014 press figure and ManMate’s 2024 report are historical reference points, not current offers.
Compare what matchmakers in NYC charge for the wider market. A candidate-pool membership, a defined introduction package and an active search are different purchases. Start with the work you want someone to do, then compare the fees for that work.
Questions to ask any matchmaker about its LGBTQ+ pool
The Williams Institute’s March 2021 brief, using 2012–2017 data, estimated 706,000 LGBT adults in the New York metro, or 4.5% of adults. That is a metro population estimate, not a matchmaker’s pool. Separately, Gallup’s 2025 national data found 9% of US adults identified as LGBTQ+, more than half bisexual.
- How many active clients like me do you have in NYC right now?
- Are potential matches paying clients, free database members or people recruited for my search?
- What ages are those candidates, and where do they live?
- Who will be my matchmaker, and how many LGBTQ+ clients do they handle?
- How many introductions does the contract promise, and over what period?
New York requires dating-service contracts to state a number of referrals per month and gives three business days to cancel: GBL § 394-c. Read more about how matchmaking works before comparing agreements.
Apps and events vs. a matchmaker
Apps let you search and message for yourself. A matchmaker takes on introduction work within an agreed scope. Events give you a setting to meet people directly. Choose the format that addresses the part of gay dating in NYC you actually want help with, whether that is finding candidates, starting conversations or making time to meet.
Compare dating apps New Yorkers use. For in-person options active in October 2026, The Men Event offers gay men’s speed dating and mixers. Sapphic NYC publishes a weekly guide to sapphic and queer events. 10th Muses also has events for its community.
